Best Wedding Venues in Lincolnshire

Manor House Wedding Venue in Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire has some lovely venues, but that's no surprise if you consider it's neighbouring counties and the historic found within. Indeed, with the close proximity to Cambridgeshire, there's a bit of line blurring between what venue counts as Lincolnshire and what doesn't! However, I did manage to highlight six wedding venues for our readers to consider or use to further your search for your dream venue. Here is my list of the Best Wedding Venues in Lincolnshire.

Abbey Farm Weddings

A short walk away to a 13th century church or a ceremony onsite, Abbey Farm has rustic charm in spades with a dash of luxury and elegance. What drew my eye to this venue was the Kirkstead Abbey Ruins that breaks through the fields and pastures, dominating the horizon. Ruins make for a dramatic backdrop in photos, so if oak beamed reception spaces and a photoshoot in a wheat field with the remains of an abbey in the distance is your dream, this may be the place for you. The venue itself has two barns at your disposal and the team is more than happy to recommend suppliers if you are struggling to find your own.

The Sessions House

The Sessions House started life as a courthouse and had served that purpose until 2016, when it came under private ownership. As a result, this venue has a very unique atmosphere and style to it, vintage elegance with an edge to it. The team at Sessions have a dedicated catering team that will help whip up a delicious menu for you or help facilitate a food truck. A venue for a small wedding party with alternative tastes, that's how I can put it best. So if that sounds like you, why not consider it?

Hirst Priory

A Grade II Georgian house built on a the site of a 12th century Augustinian priory may sound a bit niche of a venue, but Hirst Priory makes it work. The biggest strength of the priory is the flexibility of the spaces. There are four distinctive spaces available for use, the Main Rooms, the Vault, the Lawn, and the Woodlands, meaning your wedding can look exactly how you dreamed it to look. Personally, I'm a fan of the Vault and the Woodlands, two intimate and atmospheric locations that work for small weddings, but the Main Room and the Lawn are excellent if you're after a light and airy experience.

Burghley House

The family home of William Cecil (yes, Queen Elizabeth I's spymaster), Burghley House is every bit as stately as you could imagine. Still privately owned and lived in, with historic spaces one could marvel at... so imagine my surprise when I found out there were spaces tucked away from general view, hireable for your big day! There are several spaces available as well as tailorable packages, from intimate settings with a dining table that once hosted Queen Victoria and Prince Albert to slightly larger parties and drinks in the rose garden. There's even dedicated catering and accommodation on estate, making your big day easier and grand.

Doddington Hall

If you want your special day to have a focus on local produce and ecological practice, but want to keep that rustic yet stately country house vibe, Doddington may just be the place for you! This Elizabethan estate leans hard into the country side of "county house", using seasonal produce in their menus and working with local businesses. The packages at Doddington can be planned with the team to include accommodation and even extra catering if you plan to make your wedding weekend a prolonged affair.

Holywell Hall

Light, airy, balancing idyllic countryside and stateliness. Ducks and ducklings occasionally passing by, swans idly swimming the length of the lake. Holywell Hall is a dry-hire venue that hosts one wedding a week during a set season, with an emphasis on summer-y outdoor weddings with it's marquee reception area and several outdoor ceremony spaces. There's also a private decommissioned church on the grounds if you'd prefer a more traditional setting. Dry hire means that nothing aside from the venue spaces is hired, giving you ample opportunity to design your wedding exactly as you imagine it, and Holywell Hall has a list of suppliers if you need a nudge in the right direction.

I hope this has been useful to your search. Of course, these are only some of the various venues around Lincolnshire, so feel free to use this as a jumping off point if none of the entries are quite what you're looking for. And if you need a photographer and like the look of our galleries, feel free to reach out! We're just a stone throw away from Lincolnshire, after all.
