OUR PROCESS & FAQ'S

If you dream of elegant and romantic wedding photos and storytelling films filled with love and laughter, you’re in the right place…because that’s what we are all about. Our speciality is making couples feel completely at ease in front of the camera. So that together, we are able to capture the most authentic, natural memories of your big day – photos and videos that you’ll cherish so dearly for the rest of your lives.

We are based in Palma de Mallorca, with main office in Peterborough, United Kingdom,  and we travel all over the Spain, Italy, France, Greece , UK and beyond to capture weddings. We  dedicated to offering the best service to every couple, so we take on a limited number of weddings each year.

We have answered some of our more frequently asked questions below, but we will be happy to answer any others you may have.

  • What should we expect from you?
    We believe that your wedding experience is about so much more than the big day. The excitement of the planning, the joy of the day itself and the anticipation of reliving it all as we design your album – We by your side throughout the whole journey!   • How do we book you?
    Get in touch via our contact form and let’s book a zoom call to discuss your big day. Booking is simple and easy. Once we have received your signed contract and 25% booking fee, your wedding date is secured in our diary!
  • Where are you based? How far will you travel?
    I mainly work in the Spain mainland and Palma de Mallorca but we travel all over. All travel and accommodation expenses within mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands are included. We happy to provide quotes for destinations outside of mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands on a bespoke basis.
  • Does it matter if you haven't worked at our venue before?
    Not at all! If we haven’t worked at a venue before we factor in plenty of time to familiarise ourself on the morning. We don’t visit the venue before the day as this isn’t necessarily helpful – we judge how to best shoot your wedding according to the lighting scenario, which can vary hugely day to day.
  • How soon do we need to book?
    We dedicated to offering the best service to every couple, so we take on a limited number of weddings each year. We hate having to disappoint couples when we are already booked up, so please get in touch as soon as possible to check our availability. We tend to open my diary for bookings around 2 years in advance.
  • Can we have an engagement/pre-wedding shoot?
    Of course! Pre- wedding and engagement shoot are the perfect opportunity for us to get to know each other before the big day and for you to get comfortable in front of the camera. Some couples choose to do an engagement shoot (often using the images on save the dates or invitations), others choose to wait until closer to their wedding date. Let’s have a chat about which option is best for you.
  • Are you insured?
    Absolutely. If you need a copy of our documentation just ask.
  • How does payment work?
    To secure your wedding date we just need a signed contract and 25% booking fee. The booking fee is non-refundable as it holds your wedding date in our diary and future enquiries are turned away.   • Can we give you a shot list?
    oUR style is to capture your wedding naturally; working from a shot list isn’t the best way to achieve this. You can trust that we’ve done this before plenty of times and definitely don’t need a checklist telling us to capture the dress or first kiss. We understand, however, that there may be certain shots that you’ve got your heart set on, so during our pre-wedding consultation we can discuss any special requests you have.
  • Do you do group photographs?
    Yes, they are an important part of most weddings. That said, group photos usually take longer than you’d think – time that you (and your guests!) would rather spend enjoying your drinks reception! To make sure we can capture the shots as efficiently as possible and let you get on with enjoying your day, during your pre-wedding consultation we will work together to create a plan. As a guide, we recommend having no more than 10 group shot combinations. But don’t worry, if there’s a shot you’re really keen to include, we’ll make sure it happens!
  • Do you have back-up equipment?
    Yes. On the day we’ll have two camera bodies each of us and multiple lenses is will. Our cameras all have dual memory card slots – this means that if one card corrupts, we have a back up copy of every single shot taken. Following the wedding, we immediately back up all files to two external hard drives and the cloud (so if you’re counting, by this point we’ve got five back ups of your files!).
  • Our day is overrunning and we need you to stay longer than our agreed coverage hours. What do we do?
    We understand that timings at weddings don’t always go to plan. Where we able to, we will always try to accommodate reasonable requests to stay longer if needed to capture key events. In the event that this happens, just have a quick chat with us to see what we can do. Additional hours of coverage will be charged as per the rate in our current pricing brochure. We will send you an invoice for payment after your day, so that you don’t need to worry and can continue to enjoy your celebration!
  • What if you can't make it due to an unexpected reason?
    In the unlikely event that an unforeseen circumstance (illness, accident, etc) means we are unable to attend, we work with a great network of experienced photographers and would do everything in our power to provide emergency cover.
  • How long will we have to wait after the wedding for our photos?
    We know you’ll be so excited to see your photos after your big day, which is why we always include a sneak peek! Within just one 48 of your wedding we’ll send you around 10 fully edited digital photos, so that you can quickly share the big day with friends, family and across social media. They’re also perfect for ordering thank you cards. Under normal circumstances, your full online image gallery will typically be ready around 8-10 weeks after the wedding. and you wedding films will be ready in around 12-16 weeks.
  • How many images will we receive?
    The number of images you’ll receive depends on a few factors, such as whether you opt for a second photographer and the number of hours of coverage. Typically, I deliver 200-500 beautifully edited, high-resolution images for a full day wedding, all in our timeless signature style.
  • Will we receive black and white edits of our images?
    We adore black and white images. As part of your final gallery, you will receive a selection (typically around 10-20%) of images in a classically beautiful black and white edit. We cannot guarantee how many this will be before we have shot your day because, quite simply, some images look better in colour and some in black and white! We only deliver to you the absolute best images, so part of our editing process is to determine which version is best.
  • Can you edit our images in a different style?
    No. We’ve spent years perfecting our signature editing style. Everyone deserves to absolutely love their wedding photos, so if our edit isn’t quite to your taste another photographer might be a better match.
  • Do you airbrush your photos?
    During the editing process, we will gently retouch your portraits to smooth skin and correct blemishes. Our editing style creates glowing skin, whilst making sure you still look like yourself!
  • Do you offer wedding albums?
    Yes! And they are just beautiful.
  • Do we get image usage rights?
    Yes, you’ll have a full personal license to use, print and share your images for whatever non-commercial purposes you like – social media, prints, albums, etc. Essentially, you just can’t sell them to OK! magazine.
  • Can we share the images on social media?
    Absolutely! We love seeing the images shared across social media so please do tag us!
  • Can we have the RAW files?
    No, we don’t make the RAW files available. RAW format is designed to be processed. Editing is crucial to make sure the images and films look perfect and in line with the portfolio upon which you’ve hired us. To deliver RAW files would be like a florist handing you single stem flowers instead of a bouquet – it’s an unfinished product and and not representative of our work. Where the technicalities of RAW file post-production is understood, we may consider releasing them for a fee.

  • GET IN TOUCH - Send us a message via our contact form or email us at reyweddings@gmail.com to check we have your date available - we look forward to hearing about your wedding plans!

  • SECURE YOUR DATE - Booking is done online so it's quick and easy for you. A signed contract and 400 euros ( £) booking fee secure the date as YOURS! 

  • LET'S GET TOGETHER - Closer to your wedding date, we'll get together for a coffee if you around or video call and have a good chat about all your wedding plans and timeline.

  • HAVE YOUR ENGAGEMENT SHOOT - If you've opted to have an engagement shoot, we'll get a date booked in for you and plan the perfect location. It's a great chance for you to feel comfortable in front of the camera, and get some beautiful photographs as well as taking some time out together during your wedding planning.

  • FINAL PLANNING - 4 weeks before your wedding date we'll send out our Photography Plan, for you to note your final schedule, names for group shots and any other requirements. This is also when we send out your final balance and now it's time to GET EXCITED!

  • IT'S YOUR WEDDING DAY! - The big day is HERE! All you need to do is relax, enjoy your day and celebrate with your family and friends. We'll have everything we need to capture your day as it unfolds, with you safe in the knowledge that you're in good hands and it's all being photographed perfectly for you!

  • ENJOY YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS AND FILMS FOR EVER! - You're married, and what an incredible celebration it was! We'll edit some previews for you within a 48 hours of your wedding date, and have your full gallery carefully and individually hand-edited for you within 8 weeks of your wedding date. The wedding films will be ready in around 12 - 16 weeks It's worth it and now you can enjoy your beautiful photographs and films for ever, for all the years and generations to come!
